The Faculty of Pharmacy organized the White Coat Ceremony for freshman students, held on April 24^th, 2022. The event was administered by the Dean of Students Representatives, Dr. Zeynel Polat, Dr. Rozhan Arif, and hosted by Dr. Asya Omed.

White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage that serves to welcome first stage students to healthcare practice and elevate the value of humanism as the core of healthcare. It provides a powerful emphasis on compassion in combination with scientific excellence. The white coat, often seen as a symbol of authority and professionalism, is conferred on new students during the ceremony.

The President of Tishk International University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulsamad Salahuddin delivered a speech in the presence of the faculty’s academic staff, in which he congratulated and encouraged the students to work hard, wishing them great success and support through their academic journey.

The event marks the Oath of Pharmacy that students take in the presence of university leadership and their peers to acknowledge their central obligation of caring for the patient. The students were asked to wear their white coats and recite the Oath of Pharmacy, repeating after Dr. Rozhan Arif, promising to exhibit professionalism throughout their college life and to devote themselves to a lifetime of service to others throughout their professional career as pharmacists. They also vowed to apply their knowledge, experience, and skills to assure the best possible outcomes and always consider the welfare of their future patients.

In celebration of this special day, all staff and freshmen of the Faculty of Pharmacy took a photo in front of the main building. On behalf of Tishk International University, we wish our students a successful academic journey and a prosperous career.
