Tishk University chose Zerrin Kamaran as “Alumni of the Month”because she was one of the most success graduates in her department.

Zerrin kamaran, born in Slemani city, graduate of Tishk university faculty of dentistry class of 2015, Top 3rd of dentistry, head of scientific department and research in KDHO organization (Kurdistan dental health organization), presenter of health show at Rudaw media network, representative of Kurdistan in IADS (international association of dental students) prophylactic group, member in FDI ( world dental federation), and INTERSOS Italian humanitarian organization social worker with cooperation with UNICEF.

She worked with many humanitarian organizations, alongside education in college participated and organized many volunteering works in refugee camps and other dental related activities. Most significant one was visiting Peshmarga bases near makhmur front lines for dental hygiene awareness and distribution of dental aids, Although she worked in many areas when she was student however she succeeded to be in top 3rd in academic aspect with the rank of “very good”, she occupies most of her free time with reading books, she thanks Fezalar Educational companies for that because she says when she was student at their schools in Slemani they made her develop the passion for books. She believes reading books outlines peoples behaviors and can modify ways to live life.
She’s planning on studying PhD degree in very near future in turkey with the help of Tishk University and the doctors in dentistry department. Currently she’s working as a health show presenter in Rudaw media network and as a dentist in a private dental center in Erbil. She says through media we can educate our nation to have a healthier Kurdistan
She enjoys working in area of charity and development which is something she has always been interested in and passionate about, she has tendency toward public health and humanitarian works
She had training about psychology and psycho-social support, how to deal with refugees and understanding their needs held by an Italian Dr. psychologist, that trained her on how to listen and think of ways to help people in need.
Her lecturers at university have been a great motive for her,
they have always encouraged her to do more and expected more from her, and she shows gratitude for that and what they have made her accomplish she will always be grateful for that.
“I hope in future I can be a successful dentist serving my nation and ,can continue to work with IDP whether by resolving conflicts and human right abuses that causes people to be refugees or by helping them through my field dentistry”
