Tishk International University Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Business and Management organized a workshop on “Global Entrepreneurship Week” in collaboration with Meraki Ventures Company-Erbil on November 18, 2020, at the Faculty of Education, Hall 302. The objectives of the program was to celebrate the global entrepreneurship week. and provide a platform for entrepreneurs to share and exchange the ideas.

The workshop started with the presence of Dr. Idris Hadi Salih Head of Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Samad Tishk International University President, Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir Vice President for the Academic Affairs, Dr. Wasfi Tahir Vice President for the Administration & Financial Affairs, Dr. Fatih Cura Dean of Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, academicians, lecturers, and students.

There was a valuable discussion between the students and presenter’s and some students shared their thoughts regarding new business ideas, identifying potential creativity.

The following are the workshop presenters with their affiliations:

  1. Muhamad Salam
    Muhamad Salam is the founder and the CEO of Meraki Ventures; he had been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017 at the Rwanga Awards.
  2. Mr. Salar Faiq
    Salar Faiq is the founder and CEO of PI Marketing Agency. He is a multilingual marketing and IT specialist with professional qualifications in computer engineering.
  3. Lanah Haddad
    An archaeologist who has worked in the past 10 years in different international projects, especially in the MENA-region. Driven by the motivation of building bridges to reconnect people with their heritage, she created a board game based on Mesopotamian heritage and founded an Iraqi Board Game Start-up under the name Urbilum.

The entrepreneurs were awarded as the workshop presenters by Dr. Idris Hadi Head of Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Samad President of Tishk International University and Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir Vice President for Academic Affairs.

This workshop successfully achieved the aim of celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week and providing a platform for entrepreneurs to share and exchange ideas.

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics initially launched the faculty with the Department of Business and Management amid the establishment of Tishk International University in 2008. Three additional departments were formed in 2014-2015: Accounting Department, Banking and Finance Department, and the International Relations and Diplomacy Department.

Currently, our Faculty is ranked as the most attractive and demanded faculty at the University, comprising the highest number of students, which is accredited to how efficiently our students are equipped with the highest standards of knowledge, soft and hard employability skills, required to fill the market gap and prepare the best graduates, an essential element for nation development and prosperity.
