The workshop was successfully conducted and brought the different perspectives closer to each other. The perspectives presented by the speakers were engaging and brought forth questions and comments from the participants.

Nearly 60 attendants attended the workshop, and the workshop hosted 6 speakers and the speakers were:

  1. Ms. Bahasht Star – Students in TIU, Grade 3 in ELT Department.
  2. Dr. Mustafa Altun – Lecturer in TIU, ELT Department.
  3. Mrs. Sharon Cherop – Instructor in TIU, ELT Department.
  4. Mr. David Wafula – Asst. Lecturer in TIU, Mathematics Department.
  5. Dr. Azad Ali Ismail – Head of Department in Koya University, Clinical Psychology Deparment.
  6. Dr. Mohammed Hussein Ahmed – Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Overall, the workshop focused on the following:

  • Dealing with the educational challenges and prospects as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic needs to be done as a dialogue among the different perspectives.
  • We need to take more efforts to respond to the challenges and harvest the prospects.
  • It is important that educators and policymakers understand the social and educational contexts in which the pandemic is setting the challenges. We need to also need to understand how the pandemic is challenging the psychology of the people in both the private and the public spheres.
  • There is a need to diversify the learning opportunities in the educational system.
  • We need policies and regulations that support rather than hinder the educational processes.
