Second Day Activities

The second-day events (Dec 24th, 2018) were started with participants’ registration at 8:30 AM. The first session started with the presentation entitled “Shape Effects on Light Absorption and Scattering for Nanoparticles in Thin Organic Films” by Dr. Karwan W. Qadir. The second speech was presented by Dr. Botan J. Abdullah entitled “Influence of the Size Reduction on the Thermal Conductivity of Bismuth Nanowires”. After the first session “Poster Presentations” started.

After Posters presentation, the participants took place for the second session. Asst. Prof. Dr. Samir M. Hamad presented his article entitled “Characterization of ZnO Nanoparticles Prepared from Green Synthesis Using Euphorbia Petiolata Leaves” as the third talk. Finally, the last article presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Haidar J. Ismail entitled “Analysis of Nanopore Structure Images Using MATLAB Software”.

After the lunch break, two academic debates on water purification and recent findings were presented by two researchers groups. The 1st debate title was “Water Purification Using Green Synthesis Nanoparticles”. First group researchers were Asst. Prof. Dr. Azeez A. Barzinjy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Samir M. Hamad and Asst. Prof. Dr Haidar J. Ismael.

Then the second group presented their topic entitled “Water purification by Nanofibers using Electro-spinning Technique”.  The researchers of the 2nd group were Asst. Prof. Dr. Manaf A. Mohammad, Dr. Ibtisam A. Saeed and Mrs. Suhad A. Yasin.

The last activity of the workshop was the open discussion about “The present and future of nanotechnology: Our Perspectives” was presented by the panellists; Prof. Dr. Muhammed-Ali Al-Omari, Prof. Dr. Mustafa S. Omar and Asst. Prof. Dr. Khedir R. Khedir.

The workshop was ended with the warm thanks from the participants to the organizers and Tishk International University’s endless support. Finally, the certificates were awarded to the participants and participants took group photos.
