2nd National Workshop on Nanotechnology – 2018, Dec 23-24

First Day Activities

The 2nd National Workshop on Nanotechnology was organized by the Physics Education department, Faculty of Education, Tishk International University. Sponsored by: Kar Group – 1000$. The event started on Dec 23rd and it lasted for two days. First-day events started with the registration of the participants. After the registration, the participants received their handbags each containing an abstract book of the workshop, an EAJSE journal (a printed special issue on nanotechnology), a dossier, a notebook, a pencil and an Tishk International University’s catalogue.

The first session was started with the invited researcher Prof. Dr. Mohammad-Ali Al-Omari, from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). He presented research of his findings entitled “Novel therapeutic approach of using herbal Nanopowder in Photodynamic therapy (PDT)”.  (You can find a short biography of Prof. Dr. Mohammad-Ali Al Omari below). Thereafter, participants were invited to a tea break.

The second session started with a speech by Dr. Idris Hadi, head of the board of trustees of Tishk International University. Dr. Idris Hadi introduced academic structure about Tishk International University and scientific activities held by the faculties to the distinguished researchers. His speech included the mission and vision and the future prospect of the Tishk International University.

Published articles in the EAJSE journal were presented afterwards by the researchers. First, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Saeed Omar presented his letter to the editor entitled “On the History of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology”. Then Asst. Prof. Dr. Samir M. Hamad presented his article entitled “The Effect of RF-Plasma Power on the Growth of III-Nitride Materials”. After that, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azeez A. Barzinjy presented his research findings entitled “A Theoretical Analysis of Transport Characteristics of Nanoparticles in Porous Medium”. After that, the participants were invited for a lunch break.

After lunch break. Asst. Prof. Abdulrahman Khaleel Suleiman presented a speech “Optical and Acoustic Grüneisen Parameter of Nano-sized Particles” during the third session. Later, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Saeed Omar presented his article entitled “Calculation of the Band Structure for GaAs and ZnTe Nanoparticles from the Density Functional Theory Based on LDA, GGA and HSE06”. Last but not least Dr. Nasih Hma-Salah presented his research findings entitled “Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor of Toxic Nanoparticles in Aqueous Systems”.

Finally, an invited speaker Prof. Dr. Muhammed-Ali Al-Omari took the stage and he offered the researches the opportunity to send their samples for analyses in “Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and JUST Nano Centre” labs.
