August 8th, 2019, Dr. Fatih CURA, Dean of the faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics and Karwan T. Rashid, Research Assistant and ICABEP Coordinator visited John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. FASE team were welcomed by the Associate Dean of JMSB, Prof. Sandra Betton and Andy Lang, Director of the International Relations Office.

The Young University Rankings of 2019, conducted by Times Higher Education, took 351 universities throughout the world that were fifty years or younger and ranked them using a variety of factors; including industry income, research, and teaching. The Canadian university that ranked the highest was Concordia University. Concordia University, which is located in Montreal, Quebec, was founded back in August 1974, making the university a mere forty-five years old.

August 10th, 2019, FASE delegation visited Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Montreal, Canada. Professor Dr. Prosper Bernard Business (UQAM) & Chairman and Professor Dr. Michel Plaisent, director of the MIS program warmly welcomed the delegation from Tishk International University.

During the meeting, Dr. Fatih Cura presented an introductory video about the TIU and delivered a short message about the history of TIU, citing it as being the best private university in the Kurdistan Region (and IRAQ). He introduced the TIU faculties and facilities as part of the short promotional video. The delegation then discussed the range of annual scientific programs and social activities performed by TIU staff and students.

It was a very positive exchange of ideas and Dr. Fatih Cura proposed a number of future collaborations with the Canadian universities. He signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the future between JMSB, UQAM and Tishk International University. JMSB and UQAM administrators were also eager to collaborate in education and research with TIU in a number of fields; including student and staff exchange, research opportunities and possible joint educational programs.
