On November 4th-5th 2019, Tishk International University in collaboration with the University of Technology/Baghdad organized the 2nd International Conference on Architecture and Interior Design under the theme of “Identity: Tradition and Innovation”.
The opening ceremony was held at the beginning of day 1, by Dr. Idris Hadi (President of Tishk International University), in which he explained the Tishk International University system, the big jump of Tishk International University Ranking both nationally and internationally as well as the future Tishk International University plans.
The aim of the conference was to disseminate research findings and provide a platform for scholars to debate and exchange ideas about the policies and technological aspects in the field of architecture and interior design. All accepted papers will be published in ICAD2019 proceedings book and distinguished papers will be published in Eurasian Journal of Science and Engineering (https://eajse.org) and Scopus indexed journal “Steel and Composite Structures”. Furthermore, the conference provided our senior students a chance to establish communication with experienced researchers to discuss their current work as well as to be engaged in future research topics and new opportunities. Prominent international and national professors attended and participated in the conference.
TIU and UOT are grateful to all prospective presenters for their valuable contributions that brought new perspectives on the Identity; Tradition and Innovation in architecture and interior design of the Kurdistan Region. The contributions of the conference to Kurdistan was as follows:
· Encouraged people to use sustainable development in architecture and interior design.
· The new base of knowledge of the architectural Identity; Tradition and Innovation in Kurdistan has been established.
· People informed about the policies and strategies of restoration and rehabilitation of historic buildings in Kurdistan
Submitted papers reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers and all accepted & registered papers will be included in the proceedings of the conference. The conference proceedings will be indexed by Google Scholar Databases.

Sessions were held on schedule, which was most indebted to Identity in Architecture. Within this event, two panels were held. The first one under the title of (Architecture in Education Panel) chaired by Prof. Dr. Muammal Ibrahim. Second one entitled by (Solar Capital and Built Environment) chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hassan Hassoon ALDelfi.
A closing ceremony was held at the end of day 2, in which the chair of the conference Dr. Halit Vural announced the closing of his successful conference
