International Women’s Day is annually celebrated around the globe on March 8th to pay tribute to women and acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements they have accomplished. Accordingly, the Dean of Students (DOS) organized an event for this important day, and it was celebrated at Tishk International University with great enthusiasm and sincerity.

The event commenced in front of the main building with a poem performance by a member of the academic staff of TIU, Dr. Mustafa Zangana, which was then followed by a hall event in the education building where Dr. Idris Hadi Head of the Board of Trustees, presented an opening speech about Women’s Day. Our panelists, Mr. Ahmad Kani, Head of 2nd Branch KDP, and Dr. Vian Sabri, General Secretary of Women Union then proceeded to express their ideas and discussions with the participation of TIU staff and students. They marked the significance of gender equality during the panel which was a dominating talking point in the discussion.

To conclude the event, Idris Salih, a TIU English Language student demonstrated a wonderful live music performance after which was followed by Dr. Hadi, Mr. Kani, and Dr. Sabri bestowing flowers to the female staff who engaged in the event during this significant day.
