Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to manage the daily operations, maintenance, and support of the university’s server, virtualization, web, and enterprise application infrastructure. This role ensures operational continuity, system stability, and infrastructure resilience while supporting SAP environments, databases, web services, and core enterprise systems.

General Requirements

Experience

3–5 years of experience in infrastructure, systems administration, or a related role.

Degree

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Language

English required – Kurdish and Arabic are a plus.

General Requirements

Server and Virtualization

  • Administer Windows Server (2016–2022)
  • Administer Linux servers (Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, CentOS)
  • Manage virtual machines in VMware ESXi
  • Monitor CPU, memory, storage usage
  • Patch management and system updates
  • SSL certificate management
  • Backup monitoring and restore testing (Veeam, NAS)

Enterprise Application Infrastructure

  • Support SAP and SAP S/4HANA hosting environment
  • Assist with SAP migration readiness
  • Maintain Oracle 21c infrastructure
  • Manage web servers (Production and Staging)
  • Support Drupal and other application servers
  • Support internal application servers (PowerBI, Web, DB)

Identity and Core Services

  • Active Directory administration
  • DNS, DHCP support
  • GPO implementation
  • User lifecycle management

Network and Security

  • Basic VLAN and IP troubleshooting
  • Firewall rule assistance (under senior guidance)
  • VPN user management
  • WiFi controller basic administration
  • Support HikCentral CCTV system server environment
  • Participate in security incident handling

 

Documentation and Monitoring

  • Maintain infrastructure documentation
  • Update server inventory
  • Monitor logs and alerts
  • Support DR drills

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years infrastructure experience
  • Strong Windows Server knowledge
  • Practical VMware experience
  • Linux server fundamentals
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLAN, routing basics)
  • Experience supporting web servers and databases
  • Backup and restore operations experience

 

Preferred

  • Experience with SAP hosting environments
  • Experience with Oracle databases
  • Knowledge of WAF environments
  • Basic firewall knowledge
