On October 31, 2022, Biology Education Department of Tishk International University in collaboration with the Department of Medical Laboratory Science of Lebanese French University has organized the National Scientific Workshop on Systematic Review and Meta Analysis. The Workshop aimed to shed light on the contemporary challenges when writing systematic review manuscripts including the foundation of the systematic review, guidelines for systematic review, and template paper for systematic review. Moreover, the workshop has highlighted the basic techniques and tips throughout the process of review article publication in the high impact factor journals. More importantly, the significance of review for young researchers were tackled upon.

In National Workshop more than 80 participant from different universities have participated,  and three different presenters shared their experience regarding review article and systematic reviews. Asst. Prof. Bashdar M. Hussen from Hawler Medical University presented the first and second sessions in which he tackled the Techniques and Strategies for Publishing Literature Reviews in High-Impact Journals. In the third session Asst. Prof. Dr.  Abdulrahman M. Dogara has introduced the Overview of Systematic Review. During the fourth session, Mr. Mohammed F. Rasul has discussed the Importance of writing review article by the young researcher.

The objectives of workshop were:

  1. To figure out the main tips for publishing in high impact factor journals.
  2. To overcome the expected challenges in publishing review articles.
  3. To know the main contents of systematic review.
  4. To understand the importance of review paper, mainly for young researchers.

It can be stated that after a great discussion which happened between presenter and participants the workshop objectives were achieved. Consequently, The Biology Education Department is planning to hold other national and international workshops to create further collaboration with other academic institutions, both public and private, where sharing different ideas and experiences results in better research and learning environment.
