On December 3rd, 2020, the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy (IRD) at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a seminar on “Promoting Human Security: A People-Centric Approach.” The Seminar aimed to enhance the knowledge and application of Human Security in Society to learn to solve existential problems encountered during conflict and war. The Seminar included the following sessions:

 

1st session: Components of Human Security and the significance of each

2nd session: Discussion and Debate on a People-centric approach to achieve it Human Security

 

The Seminar was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Neville D’Cunha from the IRD department. It was attended by the University President, the Dean of Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE), Department Heads, University staff, Research Assistants from FASE, and 25 second-grade students of IRD. The Seminar enabled the attendees to learn about Human Security basics and its promotion by individuals within the larger society.
