The workshop in brief:

On March 07, 2019, both Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department of Tishk International University (TIU) and Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) – Erbil Section organized a workshop entitled “Using Downhole Fiber Optic Temperature Sensing Technology to Monitor, Control and Improve Well Performance” For the Distinguished Lecturer program held periodically by SPE branches in the world.
At the beginning of the workshop, TIU was introduced to the guests by Dr. Mohammed Ali Namuq (coordinator at the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department) and then SPE Erbil section chairperson introduced SPE and DL program to them.
Prof. Dr. Ding Zhu, from the University of Texas A&M, USA, which is one of the worldwide known Universities for offering Petroleum Engineering program, presented the topic in the presence of 40 academic staffs, company man and students.
Prof. Dr. Ding Zhu indicated the benefits of this technology and applications. At the end of the workshop an open discussion period was available for guests to more enrich their knowledge in this field of technology.
