‘Writing for Scholarly Publication’ Seminar

Faculty of Education organizes weekly seminars on ‘writing scholarly publication’ for all lecturers and assistants of the faculty, given by Dr. Ashraf Riadh a lecturer in the ELT Department. These weekly seminars aim to increase knowledge of attendees about scholarly writing and at the end, at least each participant expected to prepare an article successfully which will be counted as the output of the seminar. Alumni Reunion

The fourth ELT alumni reunion of Tishk International University was held on the 28th of November. The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Mehmet Özdemir Vice President, Dr. Süleyman Çelik Dean of Faculty of Education, Head of ELT Department, along with the ELT lecturers, assistants, and Head of Alumni Office. The event was purposed towards building a better relationship and getting ahead with the line of constant connections with the previous university graduates. Advisors of the Faculty of Education have organized a Welcome Party for the students from each Departments, English Language Teaching, Mathematics Education, Biology Education, and Physics Education. The event was held in the Education Faculty building to welcome the students for the new academic year 2015-2016.  The students were introduced with their Advisors and representatives from each different department.  with all pleasure, the students had a nice time together and they enjoyed  eating Dolma and Bryani.

A seminar on “Promoting Active Learning”

Faculty of Education organized a seminar program about "Promoting Active Learning" by inviting Educationalist and Education Coach Mr. Isa Murphy from California, USA. The importance of Active Learning Active Learning promotes independent, critical, and creative thinking skills. Students need opportunities to engage with material in order to practice and develop critical thinking skills. This process is facilitated by asking students to analyze, synthesize, or apply material, both during lectures and in assignments. Terminology Competition

Mathematics Education Department has recently organized terminology competition to improve understanding of maths and increase their reading and writing math skills. The significant organization contained three sections that were writing, pronunciation and definition. In the writing part, we pronounced a term from mathematical terminology; then each group wrote the word of this sound in ten seconds. In the second section, the competitors selected a number from one to twenty one randomly then we clicked on it then that group saw the word then the representative of the group pronounced this term. Mathematics Days

The days of active learning and applied methodology have been recently started. The department of Mathematics Education organized Math days in order to start a project that student centered education, learning and teaching methodology studies will be examined. Math days will be held in every week on Thurdays in the class B-203 at 13:30. We kindly invite all who interested in math and class activities.
