The department of Information Technology (IT) organized an orientation for the first-grade students on Wednesday and Thursday, December 9-10, 2020, in hall #201 in Tishk International University’s main building.

The program was launched with a warm welcome by Mr. Savriddin, Head of Information Technology Department. It was followed by a speech from Mr. Mohammed Kamal, Representative of the Dean of Students, in which he discussed the Dean of Students’ activities, clubs, festivals, and social science activities that are held during each academic year. Mr. Bilal, Lecturer of the IT Department also delivered an introductory presentation which highlighted the importance of the IT field in this modern world, and how technology plays a vital role in our daily lives. He also explained the PIS system and how it may be used throughout their academic journey at TIU.

The purpose of the workshop was to introduce the students to the curriculum of the IT Department in general aspects and acquaint them with the required information regarding the University’s customary rules and regulations, and the importance, consequences, prerequisites, of each course in this department. The event also aimed to introduce and teach students how to use the student information system (‘my.tiu.edu.iq)

Finally, the program was concluded with a tour around the main building, lecture halls, laboratories, library, and cafeteria. Freshmen students felt welcomed and delighted to join the Department team.
