Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Business and Management Department organized a seminar program by inviting respected and reputable businessman, founder and managing director of KAR group Mr. Baz R. Karim.
KAR is a privately owned company, established in 1999 with its main headquarter in Erbil, with branch offices in most Iraqi Governorates in addition to the offices abroad in Turkey, Jordan and representative in UAE and USA. KAR began its work in the field of engineering and construction projects and focused mainly on the strategic projects in the energy sector (Oil, Gas and Electricity). KAR has accomplished nearly 2400 projects since 2003 in major parts of Iraq province in the rehabilitation of the roads, water supply, sanitation, communication, constructions of schools and hospitals.
As a Faculty, we invite respected and reputable businessmen to our university to provide our students practical experience by interacting them with business world. These programs are going to bring theoretical and practical world together.
Mr. Baz provided interesting information about oil sector in the region and specified the main problems to affecting the oil production in Kurdistan and explained how they shelled the oils by the pipelines port in turkey to the international market.
There was Q/A session at the end of the seminar; our students asked challenging questions to Mr. Baz which he answered very satisfactorily. Our President Prof. Dr. Ahmet OZTAS and Dean Fatih CURA extended a gift at the end of the seminar to Mr. Baz.
