6TH INTERNATIONAL VISIBLE CONFERENCE ON EDUCATIONAL STUDIES & APPLIED LINGUISTICS (VESAL 2015) WAS HELD AT ISHIK UNIVERSITY 100 METER CAMPUS IN COLLABORATION WITH SALAHADDIN UNIVERSITY.
Tishk International and Salahaddin Universities organized 6TH INTERNATIONAL VISIBLE CONFERENCE ON EDUCATIONAL STUDIES & APPLIED LINGUISTICS. The program started with the Welcome Reception in Salahaddin University’s Culture Center the day before. On April 25, Opening Ceremony was held in Tishk International 100 Meter Campus.
Minister of Education Dr. Pshtiwan Sadiq, Representatives of the Government and Intellectuals honored the Conference Hosts with their participation. The event started with the National Anthem of Kurdistan and the inauguration speeches by Tishk International President Prof. Oztas and SUH President Asst. Prof. Dizayee. Following the hosts, Minister Sadiq celebrated the parties for the organization of such a scientific event and the cooperation between Scientific Institutions that will contribute directly to the development of Iraq.
After presentation of the plaquet, Minister, officials, intellectuals and the visitors listened to the keynote speeches by Associate Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, Mrs. Laura Woodward and Dr. Ala Makki.
After the key speeches, the sessions for the presentations started in the allotted classes with technically fully adequate. 73 international speakers from 4 different countries (from Europe to Asia) made their oral presentations with 60 papers. About 300 attendees were ready during the sessions.
In the closing ceremony, Asst. Prof. Ahmet Anwar Dizayee gave presents to Dr. Süleyman Çelik, Chair of ISHIK and Dean of Faculty of Education, Tishk International University; Assist. Prof. Dr. Idrees Muhammad Tahir Harky, Chair of SUH and Dean of College of Education of Salahaddin University; Başar Batur, Co-chair of Tishk International and Head of English Language Teaching Department, Tishk International University; Dilovan Sayfuddin Ghafoory, Co-chair of SUH and Lecturer in Salahaddin University; to the session chairs and organizing committee members while the attendees were receiving their attendance certificates.
The VESAL 2015 conference was try to touch the educational studies, language teaching and/or language-education related topics by looking more closely into the current dynamics in the world between old and new trends, local and global tendencies, progressive and conservative views, stabilization and destabilization patterns, national and global identities. It was expected that VESAL 2015 conference would be a magnet for a significant number of front-ranking academics, professionals and policy makers working in the broad areas of education.
