Pro Vice Cancellor Prof. Dr. Jamal Rasul M. Ameen, Dean of Medical School Dr. Firya Peryadi, and Director of Quality Assurance & Accreditation Dr. Sherwan Kafoor from the University of Kurdistan (UKH) visited Tishk International University on the 2nd of November, 2016. President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Oztas welcomed UKH’s committee in his office.
The main agenda of the meeting was about the collaboration between Tishk International University and University of Kurdistan. Prof. Oztas emphasized not only local but also international links and cooperation of Tishk International University. He pointed out that Tishk International University’s doors are always open to get more connections with other educational institution for better relations in education world. He, as well, stated about the international project held by GEDC and competition of students on behalf of Tishk International . He, also,underlined that the cooperation with local universities is priority of Tishk International . Hence, Tishk International University will be grateful and happy for new collaboration.
Regarding this new collaboration between Tishk International and UKH, Prof. Ameen focused on that both university have similar objectives and synergy. In terms of cooperation, he stated that universities should help and visit each other as much as they can since they are already close to each other not only psychically, but also culturally and historically. He also mentioned that the UKH is willing to join the international projects and competitions with Tishk International University.
Dr. Kafoor mostly stressed on the difficulties and inadequacies in medical field of Kurdistan region. Therefore, he suggested to challenge with the regional obstacles and struggles altogether. In this context, Dr. Kafoor mentioned as to strengthening the bridge among universities, especially between medical area of Tishk International and UKH, including the usage of facilities and labs by both side.
