A delegation from Tishk International University (TIU), led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Saleh, Head of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of TIU, paid an official visit to Akre University for Applied Sciences (AUAS), Akre, Duhok, Kurdistan Region- Iraq on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The delegation also included Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President of TIU, and Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of the International Relations Office.
The TIU delegation was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Manhal Ilham Abdal, President of Akre University for Applied Sciences, along with several senior academic and administrative officials. During the visit, both sides discussed opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation, with a particular focus on applied education and joint initiatives. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two institutions.
Akre University for Applied Sciences is a public university dedicated to applied and hands-on education, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world practice. As the first institution of its kind in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, it plays a key role in modernizing higher education and meeting labor market demands.
