Tishk International University (TIU), through its Career Development Center (CDC), successfully conducted a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) Program on Entrepreneurship and Career Development Skills curriculum, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance academic training and student readiness for the labor market in the Kurdistan Region.

The program, organized by Tishk International University –CDC, designed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and funded by the Rwanga Foundation, brought together 30 academic staff members nominated by their respective departments. Upon completion, participants are expected to deliver Entrepreneurship Education and Employability Skills courses to final-year students, supporting the integration of these essential subjects into university programs.

The training was delivered by international trainer Dr. Rebean Al-Silefanee, focusing on modern teaching methodologies and practical approaches aligned with global standards in higher education.

On the first day, participants were introduced to the Entrepreneurship Curriculum, where they explored how to guide students in developing innovative business ideas. The sessions covered key topics such as the purpose and outcomes of entrepreneurship education, project-based learning, the role of instructors as facilitators, and the use of the Business Model Canvas. Participants also engaged in practical activities by creating and presenting business ideas, enhancing their ability to deliver interactive and impactful lessons.

On the second day, the focus shifted to the Employability Skills Curriculum, equipping instructors with tools to prepare students for career success. The sessions addressed essential skills such as communication, teamwork, CV writing, and interview techniques. In addition, activity-based learning methods—including role plays and practical exercises—were emphasized to ensure effective and engaging classroom delivery.

Throughout the program, participants actively engaged in discussions and hands-on exercises, strengthening their capacity to deliver high-quality academic training. This initiative represents a significant step toward aligning higher education at Tishk International University with labor market demands, fostering innovation, and empowering students with the skills needed for career development and professional success.
