Tishk International is licensed and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Kurdistan Region of Iraq (2008), and Baghdad (2017).

  • In May 2015, the university was certified with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Certificate by British Certifications Inc, UK.

  • All programs are accredited by international accrediting agencies. For example:

    • March 2017: Civil Engineering bachelor’s program accredited by Central Evaluation and Accreditations Agency Hannover (ZEvA).

    • The Law program is in the same process with Association of Arab Universities.

Yes. The summer term education follows Tishk International University Regulations for Summer Terms.

  • Maximum 3 courses per student

  • Maximum 12 credits

  • Law Faculty summer regulations are announced specifically

  • Students are accepted according to the results of Ministry of Education examinations and Tishk International University exams.

  • Students cannot be enrolled in other institutions/universities simultaneously.

  • Final registration dates, required documents, and guidelines are determined by the university. Upon completion, the candidate becomes a student and is entitled to all students’ rights.

  • Students with justifiable excuses may have their registration completed by an acquaintance or relative.

  • Students submitting unlawful, false, or deficient documents will be dismissed.

Online Registration

Students with insufficient English must take the Preparatory School Program. If they pass the proficiency exam at the start of the academic year, they may start their enrolled program.

  • The English Language Preparatory School provides English language education for new students.

  • The aim is to advance students’ reading, writing, listening, speaking skills to follow university courses.

Yes. Two dormitories exist: one for males and one for females, both within a 5–15 min walk from campus.

  • B2 Intermediate Level completion is required via Preparatory School.

  • Students may take a proficiency exam (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and must score ≥65/100.

  • Students scoring <65 will be placed in the appropriate class.

  • Students with prior prep programs must take TIU’s proficiency exam.

  • Exemption: minimum scores of TOEFL IBT 68, IELTS 5.5, or equivalent (valid 3 years).

Master Program Details

  • Preparatory Class success: general average ≥60/100

  • Grades: 35% achievement exams, 25% quizzes, 20% portfolios, 20% teacher evaluation

  • Passing: 60% term average + 40% final exam

Maximum study period:

  • 4-year programs → 7 years

  • 5-year programs → 8 years

  • 6-year programs → 9 years

    • No disciplinary records

    • Study period within maximum 4 years (excluding preparatory)
