Erbil, Kurdistan Region – May 13, 2025 – The 10th Career Days event, a joint initiative by Tishk International University (TIU) and Soran University, commenced with an inspiring opening ceremony. Ms. Yara Arjuman Hashim, the host, delivered warm welcoming remarks, greeting attendees and introducing the ceremony.

The opening included the national anthems of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, setting a respectful tone. Promotional videos then showcased TIU, Soran University, and highlights from 10 years of Career Days, emphasizing the crucial link between education and the job market.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees at TIU, delivered the official welcome speech. He expressed appreciation for the strong collaboration among TIU, Soran University, and industry partners in creating meaningful career opportunities for students.

Following this, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, President of TIU, commended the strategic vision of the Career Development Centers (CDCs). He reaffirmed TIU’s commitment to empowering students and strengthening academic-industry ties across the Kurdistan Region.

Mr. Khattab Shekhany, representing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the Ministry’s continued support for initiatives enhancing graduate employability and practical readiness. Mr. Hakim Teli, Assistant Supervisor for the Soran Independent Administration, spoke about the region’s growing potential and the importance of supporting young professionals through academic collaboration.

Dr. Rizgar Saeed Hussein, Vice President of Soran University, highlighted the value of joint efforts in equipping students with the skills and opportunities needed for today’s job market. Ms. Kochar Azad, the Ministry of Higher Education’s CDCs Director, focused on the strategic importance of career guidance services and the future vision of CDCs across Kurdistan. Finally, Ms. Shewa Kamil Shanagar from Pirman Information Technology, the Platinum Sponsor, shared remarks on the company’s commitment to supporting youth and advancing digital skills.
