Development of new technologies, expansion of private sectors and other factors like these made necessary the preparation of new engineering cadres. Modern engineer must know his profession very well, study computer technologies, update his knowledge with new scientific and technical innovations constantly and alos must learn at least one foreign language. Ultimate goal of the Engineering faculty is to help education system of Iraq by preparing the specialists that meet these requirements. Therefore students admitted to the faculty learn English in the first course, from the second course continue to their education with the education plan and programme that have been prepared experimentally on the basis of experience of the popular universities of the world. Close relationships of the university and Engineering faculty with the local and foreign organizations give great opportunities to our students and graduates to have a practice and to get job offers in those organizations.
