Christmas Celebration

Christmas is the annual Christian festival celebrating Christ’s birth; within this context, the Dean of Students at Tishk International University hosted an event for Christian students and staff on December 21st, 2021. On this day, our campus was decorated with a Christmas tree (an evergreen tree, often a pine or a fir, decorated with lights and ornaments as a part of Christmas festivities).

The opening ceremony of the event was introduced by a speech from Dr. Abdulsamad, President of Tishk International University. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees of TIU also delivered a speech in which he congratulated all Christian students and staff on this holy day. Dr. Idris also emphasized that TIU is a place for all religions and colors and is proud to have a diverse religious environment.

To mark this special day, Father, Dinkha, as Representative of the Catholic Church, and Mr. Rami, the Director of Ankawa District were welcomed to address students and participants at TIU; they both wished a merry Christmas and a happy new year to all. After their speech, one of our students who follow the Christian faith delivered a presentation to explain the importance of the day, and what Christmas represents.

To wrap up the event, all participants were invited to take a group photo and enjoy a buffet of traditional food and dessert, and assorted drinks.

On behalf of Tishk International University, wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. We look forward to a new year of excellence, peace, and harmony.
