Faculty of Pharmacy at TIU Organizes the 4th National Tishk Pharmaceutical Conference
The 4th National Tishk Pharmaceutical Conference, under the theme “Exploring New Research and Innovative Sustainable Development in Pharmacology & Nanotechnology,” was organised by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University on May 28th-29th, 2024. The event commenced at Dedeman Hotel in Erbil, with opening speeches delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Sultan Orabi, President of Tishk International University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulsamad, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The Diamond sponsors, Mass Construction and Clever Scientific, received certificates of appreciation. Silver sponsors the companies Splat and Forever.
The keynote speakers featured Dr. Khaled Khrasiat, who presented on the topic of “Nano Tech Innovation in Pharmaceuticals Research: Pros and Cons.” The speakers for the conference are Dr. Khaled Alorasan, who will discuss “General Review of Ovarian Cancer Treatment and Resistance to Chemotherapy,” Dr. Rojgar Hamed, who will talk about “Pharmacogenetics: Understanding Variability in Drug Response,” Dr. Myasar Alkotaji, who will present on “Medical Applications of CNS,” and Dr. Reem Abou Assi, who will discuss “The Impact of Penetration Enhancers on Transdermal Drug Delivery for Breast Cancer.” Every speaker was presented with a plaque and a certificate of appreciation. The first day concluded with a delectable lunch.
The conference proceeded at the Tishk International University campus with presentations delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Aslam and Dr. Shajwan Salar. The event effectively facilitated conversations on cutting-edge research and environmentally-friendly progress in the fields of pharmacology and nanotechnology, offering an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and the establishment of professional connections. The conference indirectly endorsed a range of global initiatives, such as progress in health and well-being, high-quality education, innovation in industries, and the promotion of international collaborations.
On 29th May, a poster session was conducted where researchers from the Pharmacy field had the chance to present their research findings and engage with participants of the conference. 150 participants from various universities in Kurdistan and Iraq, including Tishk International University, Koya University, Hawler Medical University, University Kurdistan Hawler, Erbil Polytechnic University, Ninewa University, Al-Hadbaa University, Alkitab University, Knowledge University, and Duhok University, attended the conference.
