On January 22, 2025, officials from Tishk International University (TIU) visited the Korean Consulate in Erbil. The purpose was to offer condolences and express solidarity. This followed the tragic plane crash that occurred on December 29, 2024. This heartfelt visit served as a gesture of support for the victims’ families. It acknowledged the profound loss and grief they have endured.
Beyond expressing sympathy, the meeting also provided a platform for discussion. Potential avenues for academic collaboration were explored. Both TIU and the Korean Consulate emphasized the importance of fostering stronger ties with South Korea. Discussions focused on education, economic partnerships, and cultural exchange. This dialogue reflects a shared commitment to building a future of mutual growth and understanding. Ultimately, it aims to further solidify the bond between the university and South Korea.
