Erbil, Kurdistan Region – April 22, 2025 – Tishk International University (TIU) had the honor of welcoming Mr. Abdulsattar Younus, Head of the Hawler Marathon Organization, and his esteemed team. This special meeting aimed to reinforce community collaboration through the ‘Hope Run’ fundraising and marathon project.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Vice President of Academic Affairs, warmly received the distinguished guests. Also present were Prof. Faiq Hussain, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science; Dr. Tola Faraj, Vice Dean; and the Head of the Medical Analysis Department, who were the main initiators of the project from TIU.
Both parties expressed their delight in working together on this impactful initiative. It specifically focuses on raising support for cancer patients across the Kurdistan Region. They also shared a mutual interest in establishing a long-term partnership. This partnership aims to promote health, awareness, and social responsibility within the community.
During the meeting, TIU proudly handed over the funds collected through the ‘Hope Run’ campaign to Mr. Younus and the Hawler Marathon Organization. As a token of appreciation and recognition, the university received an official marathon t-shirt. This t-shirt featured the TIU logo, symbolizing its vital role in the project’s success.
This collaboration reflects TIU’s strong commitment to social engagement. It also highlights the power of unity in driving positive change.
