rbil, Kurdistan Region – May 19, 2025 – Tishk International University (TIU) successfully held its First Cement Craft Exhibition today. The event showcased remarkable artistic creations made entirely from cement-based materials. The Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and Interior Design Engineering Departments of the Faculty of Engineering jointly organized and executed this exhibition.

This collaborative effort displayed the innovation and artistic talents of students across these three disciplines. It highlighted the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary education.

The exhibition transformed the entrance of TIU’s Main Building into a gallery of cement artworks. These demonstrated both technical mastery and creative expression. Beginning at 2:00 PM, students from the participating departments presented a diverse range of models. These works married engineering principles with artistic vision. They also highlighted the versatility of cement as both a construction material and a medium for cultural and artistic expression.

The exhibition was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Several distinguished guests attended, including the Head of Board of Trustees, Dr. Idris Hadi; Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi (President of TIU); University Vice Presidents; and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, heads of departments, and professors. This high-level attendance underscored the university’s commitment to promoting innovative teaching methods. These methods bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

Beyond showcasing artistic talent, the exhibition served as a platform for hands-on learning and interdisciplinary collaboration. The organizing departments worked together to create this unique event. Students gained valuable experience in project management, material properties, and design implementation.
