Tishk International University proudly hosted Korea Week 2025 at the Korea Corner on August 29–30, 2025, in the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees at TIU, Mr. Seungcheol Lim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Erbil, and Mr. Falah Mustafa, Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Region.
This two-day celebration offered a vibrant showcase of Korean culture, bringing together students, faculty, and guests to experience the richness of South Korea’s traditions. Attendees enjoyed hands-on Korean food-making sessions, where they learned to prepare popular dishes, and participated in traditional games inspired by Korean culture.
A special highlight was the recreation of games from the globally popular series “Squid Game”, allowing participants to engage in fun and friendly competitions. Guests also had the opportunity to dress in traditional Korean clothing (hanbok), creating memorable photos and souvenirs to commemorate the event.
The event also featured K-beauty workshops, live music performances, and an energetic Taekwondo demonstration, creating an immersive experience of Korean culture.
Thanks to the generous support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Erbil, KKYO, and TIU, Korea Week 2025 became an unforgettable experience that strengthened cultural ties, friendship, and mutual understanding between Kurdistan and South Korea.
