On the 3rd of March 2016 under the Faculty of Administrative Science and Economics, Business Club and International Relations and Diplomacy department held a seminar under the title of “honor killing” with emphases on the famous case of “Banaz love story”.
The seminar was held by Mrs. Michele A. Perrin the consulate assistant from the consulate general of the United States of America – Erbil, with Mr. Dler Ali Hamad the cultural affairs specialist from the consulate general of the United States of America – Erbil.
The seminar began by welcoming both of our guests by the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Fatih Cura and by the students who were participating in this seminar of International Relations Department and the Business Club members, then it continued by introducing the case and the subject of the seminar by Miss. Michele followed by that documentary video under the title of “Banaz love story”. The video was about the honor killing case of a Kurdish girl who has been killed by her father and family for the sake of love. After watching the video an open discussion took place between our guests and students, and faculty staff in which a lot constructive opinions and ideas were shared. Tishk International University and the faculty would like to thank Ms Michele and the attendees for participating in this very informative seminar.
