Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş as a representative of Tishk International University is a member of Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) since 2012. The GEDC is an affiliate of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES). In 2016, the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) will vote for one Chair-Elect, one Secretary Treasurer and six Executive Committee members. What is GEDC?
Recognizing the global need for a world-wide forum of engineering deans and rectors, a group of over 20 leaders of engineering education institutions and corporate partners first met in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, on 9 October 2006 and in Istanbul, Turkey, on 30 September2007. Encouraged by the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) and modeled after the ASEE Engineering Deans Council (EDC), the Global Engineering Council (GDEC) was established on 9 May, 2008 in Paris. Engineering Deans of from over 50 countries in 6 continents are member of the GEDC.
