On February 10, 2019, Tishk International University (TIU) held an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its founding. A large number of participants, students and guests attended the event, including KRG ministers, MPs, NGOs and other officials.
The President of the TIU, Dr. Idris Hadi, the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Hadad, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (KRG), Dr. Yusif Goran, the Minister of Education, Dr. Pshtiwan Sadq (KRG), the Governor of Erbil, Mr. Nawzad Hadi, and owner of khoshnaw company, Mr. Ghafour Khoshnaw were among the dignitaries that were present.
In addition to the above, representatives of several other organizations, universities, former ministers, general consulate representatives, academics, and families of students took part in the event. The celebration included some different activities such as speeches by some of the guests, giving out recognition awards, and live music performances.
In the opening speech, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Yusif Goran, explained the works of his ministry about higher education, and he noted the progress that TIU has made so far. This was followed by Dr. Idris Hadi delivering a speech in which he presented a detailed account of the university’s development over the past 10 years he also explained the aims of being an international University. Then a video from past to now has shown in the event followed by a video of statesmen and our alumni.
Furthermore, ISO 9001:2015 certificate was handed to Dr. Idris Hadi, on behalf of the TIU, by a presentative of Bureau Veritas, and this adds to the achievements of TIU since its establishment. The ceremony enriched with live music performed by two of our talented students, Tavan Kamarran and Taha Kadir from Architecture. The ceremony ended by a group photo of all our TIU family.
From now on February 10, of each year has been settled to university day. TIU is pleased and feel proud that all of the participants and our students seemed to enjoy this special day.
