Tishk International University with partnership of Ministery of Social Affairs hosted physically challenged students from Hiwa Center on the 7th of February 2017 on the premises at Tishk International University. Senior staff of the university was among the hosts: Dr. Idres Hadi Head of Board Trustees and Prof Dr. Ahmet Oztas President showed their care and interest by attending the program in person. In the presence of Dr. Idris Hadi Head of Board Trustees, Deans of Faculties and Head of Departments of Tishk International University held a seminar on 6th February, 2017 about E-library in main building at university. The seminar was presented by Dr. Muhamad Mustafa Library Director of Salahaddin University. In his session, he explained how e-library works and what its importance is for the University.

Tishk International University hosted FPO (Fezalar Project Olympiads) event which is a traditional scientific Project Competition for the secondary and high school students in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Design, and Computer Sciences. It was organized in collaboration with Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Education, Ronaki Hawler Education Company, and Tishk International University. FPO is arranged in Sulaimani, Kirkuk, Duhok and Erbil annually. Delegation from the Higher Education Ministry of Iraq visited Tishk International University, and welcomed by Dr. Idris Hadi Head of Board Trustees and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Oztas President of Tishk International University on the 29th January, 2017. President Oztas made a presentation concerning the university plans, targets, achievements, successes, facilities, departments, and scientific and social activities of Tishk International University. Dr. Ali Razuqi from Baghdad as Head of the Delegate and Dr. Jamal Kamal as representative of Higher Education Ministry in KRG were ready on the campus during the examinations and evaluations. The bulletin of the GEDC has been released. In the bulletin gave place to Tishk International University. According to the new issue, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş President of Tishk International University has been selected as the first “FEATURED DEAN” for 3 months of year 2017.  Professor's successful activities at his university as well his previous studies and in the GEDC community played a significant role for this selection. Prof. Oztas has been interviewed after the selection as Featured Dean.
