'We will not Forget You' was a relief campaign organized by English Language Teaching Department pre-service teachers (student-teacher) with Deanery of Students.  The campaign organizers underlined that the program is purposed to convey a relieving message to the brother and sisters of Khazir Refugee Camp residents who are constantly held in hearts and minds, and who are not forgotten. Dean of Students arranged a welcome ceremony on the campus for freshmen students. The event was held at 12:00 o’clock on January 18, 2017.   The event started with the welcome speech by the President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş. In his speech, he welcomed the students warmly to university for the new academic year and wished them success as well as encouraging them to take advantage of ISHIK’s status as one of the world’s premier international institutions and pioneer in the Kurdistan Region. Faculty of Law is proud of their successful students. They have high profile as academic in their class.  Top-ten students were chosen from each year to be given certificates and gifts for their outstanding performance during whole academic year. The aim of this award is to wish them success and encourage them in academic world.

Mathematics Education Department of Tishk International University organized a great competition on how to write, how to spell and how to define a mathematical vocabularies which are mostly used in math courses. In the competition was included 5 groups, and each group consisted of three students from second, third and fourth year of Mathematics Education Department. There were 5 jury members. Two of them were guest jury members who are Cuneyt KILIÇ Mathematics Teacher from Ronaki Hawler Educational Institutions and Ibrahim Nişancı Assistant Lecturer from ELT Department of Tishk International University. The winner group was awarded with gifts and certificate.

ELT department students are in action again. Although they are overwhelmed by various tasks and assignments, they’re started their teaching in refugee camps. As we all know, ELT students organized teaching sessions in Darashukran refugee camp last year. Tishk International University was awarded for this project. In this context, our enthusiastic and altruist students have decided to organize a charity event one step further.
