Celebrating the Opening of the Korea Corner at Tishk International University

On December 16th, 2024, the grand opening of the Korea Corner at Tishk International University took place, in collaboration with the Korea Foundation. This vibrant space is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and developing mutual understanding. The event marked a significant step in deepening the cultural and educational ties between Korea and our academic community.

We were honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Falah Mustafa, Special Assistant to President of Kurdistan Region for Foreign Policy Affairs; Mr. Lim, General Consulate of the Republic of Korea; Mr. Omed Khoshnaw, Erbil Governor; Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu Orabi, President of TIU; Mr. Abdullah Khoshnaw, Member of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Karzan Khowarahman Karim, Representative of the Prime Minister’s Office; presidents of various universities; representatives from companies; international school principals; and several other distinguished individuals.

Guests toured the Korea Corner, impressed by the thoughtful preparations that beautifully reflected Korean culture. The event also featured outdoor activities, including a calligraphy booth by the Korea-Kurdistan Youth Association (KKYA), traditional music playing in the background, and a Korean cultural clothes photo booth.
