Cancer Cure Workshop

In cooperation with the Dean of Students’ Office, the Department of Computer Engineering organized a workshop panel on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, held in Hall #302 at Tishk International University’s Education Building. The panel hosted 3 distinguished panelists from Nanakali Hospital to discuss the causes, symptoms, and prevention of the disease and to help raise awareness on the Nanakali Aid Project. The panel digested a wide range of topics regarding caner and the Nanakali Aid Project.

Our prestigious guest speakers had a conversation with Avan Azad, Research Assistant at Tishk International University, about cancer both as an illness and as a social issue.

Dr. Paiman Ali, Pediatric Hematology at Nanakali Hospital, gave our audience a glimpse at cancer as an illness and discussed the day-to-day situations patients face when dealing with such a ruthless disease as cancer.

Dr. Hawro Taha, Medical Oncology Specialist at Nanakali Hospital, furthered the conversation by highlighting the methods of reducing the chances of developing cancer. Also talked about types of cancer and their suggested causes.

Mr. Jalal Mahmood, Head Of Nursing Department at Nanakali Hospital, addressed the joint Nanakali Aid Project between the Department of Computer Engineering at TIU and the hospital and revealed the statics of cancer patients receiving medical services at the Nanakali Hospital.

Ms. Avan Azad, Research Assistant at the Department of Computer Engineering, Tishk International University, also spoke about the Nanakali Aid Project which was initiated by the Computer Engineering Department, and discussed the plans they have for the project that has been ongoing since 2017.

The Department of Computer Engineering extends its gratitude and appreciation to the respected guests of Nanakali Hospital for their beneficial panel and looks forward to expanding the Nanakali Aid Project by coming together as one and showing support to cancer patients.
