Digital Transformation Agency Honours TIU Key Officials
In a ceremony held at Tishk International University (TIU), the Digital Transformation Agency recognized the exceptional contributions of three scientists and academicians in the field of higher education in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The awards were bestowed upon Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees at TIU, Prof. Dr. Sultan AbuOrabi, President of TIU, and Prof. Dr. Ahmad Dizayi, Former President of Salahaddin University-Erbil. Present at the ceremony were members of the Board of Trustees, Deans, and Heads of Departments from TIU.
The ceremony, organized by Dr. Safad Shamari, Head of the Digital Transformation Agency, and Dr. Lebnan Alshami, President of the Council of Experts and Advisers in the Iraqi Digital Transformation Agency and Former President of Ahl Al-Bait University, celebrated the valuable efforts and significant work of the awardees. These academicians have played pivotal roles in advancing higher education within Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
As part of the award ceremony, Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees, took a moment to share insights into TIU’s mission and vision. In a brief but impactful presentation, Dr. Hadi highlighted the university’s commitment to excellence in higher education in Iraq and Kurdistan. Following the ceremony, a productive meeting transpired between the Digital Transformation Agency and TIU to explore the feasibility of establishing a forum dedicated to honouring scientists from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The proposed event is set to take place on March 7th, 2024, at TIU. The forum aims to recognize and celebrate the achievements of over 100 distinguished scientists from KRI.
The initiative underscores the commitment of both the Digital Transformation Agency and TIU to foster a culture of appreciation and acknowledgement for the outstanding contributions of scholars in the region. The forthcoming forum promises to be a significant milestone in promoting excellence and innovation in the field of science and education within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
