Dr. Tola Faraj, Vice Dean of Faculty of Applied Sciences Presents Molecular Biology Lab Achievements at TIU Council Meeting

Dr. Tola Faraj, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU), recently presented a significant report to the University Council, emphasising the accomplishments of the Molecular Biology Lab. A team from TIU, led by Dr. Faraj and supported by the Head of the Board of Trustees, the President of TIU, the Vice Presidents of Academic and Financial Affairs, and the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, recently visited a cutting-edge biotechnology laboratory in Jordan to investigate advanced molecular biology techniques, specifically regarding Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) devices.

The visit represented a pivotal advancement in fortifying partnerships between TIU and global biotech institutions, with the objective of augmenting the university’s research proficiencies in molecular biology and genetics. The team was acquainted with various PCR technologies, including real-time PCR (qPCR), digital PCR, and conventional PCR systems. These devices possess extensive applications in diagnostics, research, and academic instruction. The experience enhanced the team’s expertise and facilitated the incorporation of advanced technologies into TIU’s laboratories, thereby elevating the university’s reputation in molecular biology research and education.

Dr. Faraj conveyed profound appreciation to TIU’s affiliated medical enterprises and laboratories (RISC, ALKHORA, Black Pearl, and Biotech Lab) for their significant assistance during the visit. He recognised the productive meeting with experts at the Cell Therapy Centre (CTC) at the University of Jordan, which enhanced the team’s knowledge and encouraged possible future collaborations. At the end of the presentation, ALKHORA company awarded a plaque of appreciation to Tishk International University, representing the robust partnership and mutual dedication to enhancing molecular biology research and education.
