Faculty of Law Students to Participate in an International Trade Competition

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition has been held annually in Vienna, Austria, attracting more than 375 universities from all over the world. This competition is one of the most prestigious legal tournaments in which more than 3,500 participants comprising law students, lecturers, international organizations, representatives of arbitration bodies…etc. It is held over the course of 9 months and is conducted in the English Language.

This year, the International Commercial Arbitration Competition (التحکیم التجاری الدولی) was sponsored by CLDP (Commercial Law Development Program U.S Department of Commerce) and BCDR (Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution).

Tishk International University is proud to announce that its team will be participating in the 29th Vis Moot Competition, alongside the participation of 35 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. In preparation for the competition, a pre-moot took place in the Kingdom of Bahrain, from March 9th to March 13th, 2022.

The Faculty of Law team, supervised by Hadar Ashty (5th-grade student) consisted of the following students:

– Hussien Soran – 4th Grade

– Mohamad Rabar – 4th Grade

– Zana Saman – 4th Grade

– Vina Hassan – 2nd Grade

The students received the international participation certificate and performed their duties successfully. The Faculty of Law at Tishk International University is proud to be the only college in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to have been participating in this activity and wish to continue engaging in such activities. We would also like to thank the Deanship and the Presidency of TIU who have supported the team and helped them in achieving the best results.
