TIU Hosts 1st Forum for Digital Communication and Media in Kurdistan Region

In collaboration with the the Baghdad Foundation for Digital Communication and Media, Tishk International University (TIU) convened the inaugural Forum for Digital Communication and Media, held on February 22nd, 2024. Under the supervision of Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the event gathered notable figures and experts in the field.

The distinguished committee overseeing the forum included Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees at TIU; Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, President of TIU; Dr. Safad Shamari, Head of the Digital Transformation Agency; and Dr. Lebnan Alshami, Head of the Expert and advisor’s committee.

The forum started with the rendition of national anthems and welcoming speeches by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi and Mr. Alaa Almula, the representative of Digital Transformation and Media in the presence of Mr. Umed Xoshnaw, The Governor of Erbil, Dr. Aram Muhammed Qadir, and other honorable guests. Dr. Idris Hadi and Dr. Ahmad Dizayee, president of Knowledge University, delivered insightful seminars on the evolving landscape of higher education, shedding light on the latest developments and future prospects.

The event attracted 150 distinguished personalities, including key officials in higher education, former ministers, university presidents, and prominent media personalities, highlighting their invaluable contributions to the advancement of education and media within the Kurdistan Region.

The forum concluded with a sense of optimism and determination to further harness the potential of digital communication and media for the betterment of education and society as a whole. As the Kurdistan Region continues to embrace innovation and technological advancement, events like these serve as catalysts for positive change and development in the region’s higher education landscape.
