The Final Stage of the 5th Future Inventors Olympiad Project (FIOP) was held on February 16, 2019, at Ronaki International School in Erbil in the presence of representatives from Ministry of Education, Academics, Directors, high schools’ teachers, students’ family and their friends. Future Inventor Olympiad was organized in collaboration with Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Education, Ronaki Hawler Education Company, and Tishk International University.

Dr. Duran Kala, the head of Jury members, said that the aim of Olympiad is to improve the creative ability and scientific thought of high school students, as well as the skills and clarity shown in their projects and to help the growing of future scientists. This year, 20 Biology, 8 Chemistry, 5 Computer, 11 Mathematics and software, 11 Physics, 10 Design and Short Movie (total 65) projects made it to the Final stage of Erbil FIOP.

The projects were evaluated by a specially selected team of 14 Jury members from both Tishk International University and high school teaching staff – each with a unique set of skills and experience. 10% of contestants were awarded gold medals, 20% with silver, and 30% with bronze. In addition to medals and certificates, monetary awards given to the students and supervisors of the best projects of FIOP 2019. Certificates of participation were given to all registered participants.

Tishk International University is one of the main sponsor of this project. This project was also held in Duhok and Baghdad in contribution of the ministry of education. The successful students will have a chance to represent Kurdistan/Iraq in the international projects and competitions in different countries such as the USA, Netherlands, Kenya, Georgia, Indonesia, Brazil, etc.
