Guardians Meeting for First Stage Students Faculty of Pharmacy

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University, in collaboration with the Dean of Students Representatives, recently hosted a Guardians Meeting for first-year students. The purpose of the meeting was to acquaint the parents with the faculty and provide them with a better understanding of the university’s academic structure. Invitations were sent out to the guardians in advance, and the event took place on March 1st, 2023, at Faculty of Pharmacy Hall 302.

The staff warmly welcomed the parents of all first-year students, including the esteemed presence of Minister of Education of KRG, Alan Hama-Saeed Salih, who is also a parent of one of our students. The meeting began with Dr. Sarmad Jabbar, the host, extending a warm welcome and introducing the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Dr. Vedat Koksal, the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, expressed his gratitude to the parents for raising such bright students and emphasized the faculty’s commitment to providing the best education possible. He assured the parents that at the Faculty of Pharmacy, everyone works as a family, and the students’ well-being is the top priority. Dr. Esra Bayraktar, the Head of Faculty of Pharmacy, provided an overview of the Faculty’s operations and highlighted the importance of student-lecturer communication. She also explained how students can access information regarding their grades, assignments, and absences. Additionally, she highlighted the significance of extracurricular activities at the Faculty and how students are encouraged to participate in them to enhance their skills in their field and beyond.

Lastly, the Faculty’s Coordinator and Dean of Students Representative, Dr. Rojan Arif, presented the activities organized in previous years to offer the guardians a glimpse of what their children can expect to experience at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Following the presentations, the parents enjoyed a small coffee break, arranged by the Faculty, before embarking on a tour of the Faculty’s labs and classes to acquaint themselves with the Faculty’s environment.

In conclusion, the Guardians Meeting for First-Year Students at the Faculty of Pharmacy was a success, thanks to the participation and involvement of the guardians. The event provided valuable insights into the faculty’s operations and assured the parents that their children are in good hands.
