A Delegation from Hawler Medical University consists of Asst. Prof. Dr. Dara O. Meran President of University and Deans visited Tishk International University on January 17, 2017. They were warmly welcomed by Dr.Idris Hadi Salih Head of Board of Trustees. In a small meeting, the future projects between Both side such as seminars and conferences were discussed and decided to be done in the nearest time. After the meeting they visited Dentistry faculty and pharmacy department.

After the Darbandikhan earthquake on November 12, 2017, Tishk International University president Dr. Idris Hadi Salih has established an engineering committee under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş to visit the earthquake region and make an investigation on the facts and causes of the earthquake. The committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, Asst. Lec. Barham Haidar Ali, Asst. Lec. Ilham Ibrahim, and Asst. Lec. Twana Ahmad. The committee has visited the Darbandikhan and made general observations on the city and special investigations on many damages and collapsed structures.
