The Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of Tishk International University in collaboration with the UNAMI Human Rights Office held an event to commemorate the Human Rights Day on December 10th. The event was attended by the president of the university, UNAMI staff, Tishk International university academics and students, representatives of NGOs and human rights activists. It consisted of various activities ranging from speeches by some of the university students, and UNAMI Human Rights Office representatives, among others, to an outdoor activity by 50 students with the aim of promoting human rights.
Overall, this was a great opportunity for the students and others to interact with each other as well as remembering this important day. The question of the significance of human rights and the Human Rights Declaration were among some of the topics addressed by the presenters. One aspect that was alluded to was the need for a better respect for human rights around the world, and the end of all human rights violation.
