Tishk International University (TIU) had the honor of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Iraq on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM (Iraqi Time). The delegation was led by H.E. Lee Jun-il, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Iraq, accompanied by Mr. Seungcheol Lim, South Korean Consul General in Erbil, Park Minwoo, 1st Secretary and Consul, Junyoung Jong, President Representative, KOICA Erbil Office, and along with other embassy representatives. They were received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Saleh, Head of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of TIU, and key university officials.
The visit commenced with the delegation’s reception in the TIU Main Building, where they were warmly welcomed by the university’s leadership before proceeding to the office of the Head of the Board of Trustees for an official introduction. Following this, the guests viewed a promotional video highlighting TIU’s achievements, academic vision, and growing international partnerships. The delegation was then escorted on a guided tour of the Faculty of Pharmacy, offering them firsthand insight into the university’s advanced laboratories, modern facilities, and commitment to academic excellence.
The program continued at the Korean Corner, TIU’s dedicated hub for cultural and educational exchange, where university representatives delivered a comprehensive presentation on its initiatives, ongoing activities, and future plans designed to promote Korean language and culture among students. The visit concluded on a positive and constructive note, reinforcing a shared commitment to enhancing academic cooperation and cultural collaboration between Tishk International University and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.
