TIU Delegation Participates in the Kurdistan Health Summit in Halabja (November 20–22, 2025)

A distinguished delegation from Tishk International University (TIU) participated in the Kurdistan Health Summit, held in Halabja from November 20th to 22nd, 2025. The summit brought together leaders from academia, government, healthcare institutions, and international organizations to discuss the future of the health sector in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The TIU delegation included, Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Iraq Chapter of the International Association of Universities (IAO), Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, President of Tishk International University_ Erbil, Professor Dr. Khidir Masum Hawrami, President of TIUS, Dr. Tola FARAJ, Vice Dean of the Applied Science Faculty, Dr. Aram Sabr Tahr, TIU Liaison, and Dr. Osman Durmaz from TIUS.

TIU’s participation is highlighting the university’s leadership in higher education and its strong partnerships with the healthcare sector. As the No. 1 university in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, according to the latest Times Higher Education (Arab and World Rankings) and QS Rankings, TIU continues to play a central role in advancing healthcare education, research, and professional training.

Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih will be a panellist in a major panel discussion focusing on the development and challenges of Medical Faculties in public and private universities in the region. He also will present TIU’s recent accomplishments, including the university’s ISO certifications and international accreditations from globally recognized bodies for various bachelor programmes at TIU.

In addition, Dr. Tola FARAJ will deliver a talk on the strategic vision of TIU’s Medical Faculties, outlining the key initiatives and quality standards that have contributed to the university’s continuous success and top ranking each year.
