Mercy Corner is an annual humanitarian project of our university that is done each year by our students and staff. This year’s Mercy Corner has been initiated proudly with the cooperation of Dilenwa Organization on November 03, 2019, entitled by Mercy Corner #Rojava, which was dedicated to those displaced people because of the recent situations occurred in western Kurdistan.

The goal of this project is to help those who are in need, understanding their situation that one day we might face the same situation as they are suffering nowadays beside all enhancing the sense of helping and giving in our Tishk society.

To enrich this project we organized a food fundraising event on November 12, 2019, with the great contribution of our students and staff from all the faculties of our university for supporting the Mercy Corner #Rojava. The students and the staff of the university have participated hand in hand by bringing homemade food, sweets, traditional foods, juice, etc. and then they have sold them on our campus.

One more thing we have to emphasize on is this project had two sponsors one is Kar group and the other was Mawlawi Kurdish Cultural Centre. The total income of this project was nearly 12000 $.

Later on, we have prepaid 850 packages for 850 families, inside the packages, there were 13 items including bean, chickpea, rice, tomato paste, sugar, salt, lentil, soap, oil, cheese, macaroni, tea and jam beside them there were diapers, blanket and milk bottles for the children. Eventually on December 12, 2019, with our students and staff, we distributed those packages to the refuges in Bardarash camp.

Lastly, we highly appreciate and thanks to our sponsors, students, and staff, without them this successful project would not be able to do
