The “Middle East Journey: Radicalism or Tolerance discussion panel was jointly organized by Tishk International University Sulaimani  Branch and The Polytechnic University Sulaimani Branch.

The panel discussion was held on 10th of January 2016. The panel was held on the purposes to elucidate and present to the new generation that grows, how radicalism obsession is destructive, unacceptable and at the same time this psychology disrupts the social structure. Besides it, the tolerance psychology unifying societies and communities shows respect to different opinions and ideas and it attaches value to freedom of thought.

Panel started at around 10:30 in the Polytechnic University Sulaimania Branch’s conference hall, on January 10, 2016. The panel discussion began with the opening speech of the two universities’ Presidents: Prof Dr. Ahmet Öztaş (Tishk International  University) and Assist Prof Dr.Alan F. Ali (Sulaimani Polytechnic University).
Then Associate Professor Shammas Salur made his presentation called Radicalism. Doctor Omar Rafiq from Sulaimani University shared his personal ideas which entitled “Middle East Journey” with the participants. After that, one of the Polytechnic University’s students, Ziryan Rojelaty, shared his views about the radicalism. Finally, Tishk International   University Sulaimani Branch’s student, Eman Fakhraddin,  made her speech about  “Tolerance Effect”. After the Questions and Answers session, speakers were presented plaques and certificates by the universities protocols.

The press showed considerable attention to the panel discussion and it was followed by about 10 different media agencies. The discussion was followed with great interest by two universities Faculty members and students who were about 250.
