Tishk International University (TIU) proudly hosted a distinguished delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Kurdistan Region. Their visit aimed to evaluate the establishment of a new Anesthesia Department within the Faculty of Applied Science.

This important visit marks a significant milestone in advancing academic and healthcare services in the region. The evaluation committee, comprising experts in anesthesiology and higher education, received a warm welcome from TIU leadership. This included the President of the University and the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science also participated. They presented the university’s vision, infrastructure, and strategic plans for the proposed department.

Discussions during the visit emphasized the urgent need for an Anesthesia Department. This is especially critical given the shortage of trained anesthetists in the healthcare sector. The delegation recognized the vital role such a program could play. It would bridge this gap and meet the growing demands of the Kurdistan Region’s healthcare system.

TIU administration reaffirmed its dedication to academic excellence, practical training, and community engagement. The university aims to deliver internationally aligned education. This will be supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, experienced faculty members, and clinical partnerships with both public and private hospitals.

The visit concluded on a positive and hopeful note. There was mutual recognition of the department’s potential and a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare education. The next steps will be guided by the Ministry’s final recommendations.

This initiative highlights TIU’s ongoing mission to expand its academic programs. It aligns with societal needs. It also aims to remain a leading force in educational and professional development throughout the Kurdistan Region.
