TIU Signs MoU With MAAUN In Virtual Ceremony
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was virtually signed by Tishk International University and Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) on August 4th, 2022. Asst Prof Dr Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President, Dr Orhan Tug, Head of Mathematics Education Department, and representatives of the International Relations Office represented TIU in the meeting, and MAAUN was represented by Prof (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, President of MAAUN, Dr Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Administration/Registrar of MAAUN, and Head of International Relations Office.
The MoU between the two universities was signed to promote our aim of cooperation in education and research areas of mutual interest. This agreement also encourages direct contact and collaboration between faculty members, departments, research institutions and students. With the aim to achieve the following activities, both universities (TIU and MAAUN) signed an MoU on August 4th 2022 :
- Exchange of publications, academic materials, and other information,
- Making joint applications for grants and participating in projects of international funds,
- Bilateral exchange of the teaching staff and students,
- Arranging international forums, symposiums, workshops, conferences,
- Organizing and holding joint sports and cultural events
In the meeting, Asst Prof Dr Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President, presented a TIU promotion video to the key officials at the MAAUN by which the TIU and its major achievements were shared with TIU’s potential partner. In return, the President of MAAUN presented a short video about MAAUN to TIU representatives.
To conclude, both parties confirmed the importance of opportunities for further mutual approaches to promote our aim. This agreement aims to forge a road toward academic, cultural and scientific collaboration.
